Research Journal 4

Sorry for posting the research journal 4 so late. ^^;

I narrowed down my potential research topic from three to two, two topics being Angelina Grimke Weld (who supported for the women's rights and against the slavery); Rose Anna Summerfield (who supported for the women's equality). For now, my id tells me that I should go for Angelina Grimke Weld, for she had the same religious perspective as me; that is, the Christianity. Moreover, I found that she had written some good sources to support her view as a woman liberator.

Research Journal 3

From Lost in Translation
Huffman's role as being involved as a double immigrant prevents her to be used to the surrounding environment in Canada. Furthermore, only if she had more deeper and clear understanding about the background and the history of the Holocaust, could she have been more desiring to go to Canada.
However, the most important key to the possibility of her different perspective is that she ought to find her own ways to overcome her isolation and hatred within the society of Canada. She should visit places in Canada where she could locate herself in the position of joyness or happiness. From then, she had better just let the time passes before her, being more mature in terms of looking one's own worldview.
I personally was similar to Huffman in that I had refused to go to America at first when my parents asked me if I would like to go abroad to further my career in education. I didn't really want to go to America, for all my friends were in Korea. Therefore, when I initiated my studying in the America on the west coast of California for two years, I actually underwent the isolation and somewhat hatred to live in the USA. Yet, as the time elapsed by and I grew up to be older, I began to look diffently of my means of the current world and the worldview.

Research Journal 2

I chose the blog, which is mainly about the stories on the writing and family life of Karen Anne Mahoney, an author and a journalist. I chose this blog since I certalinly believe that this blog would promote me to relate it to the topic: Women's autobiography, for Karen herself is an author and a journalist. What I find interesting about it is the fact that she said that she is available for interviews, spiritual life, historical stories, all types of magazine articles, some technical writings, and etc.
Karen Anne Mahoney has been a temporary journalist for the last 17 years. She is a mighty Christian (I am unsure her religion, for she says that she loves God and Christ, but also the Roman Catholic Church) She is strongly rooted from her morality since she said, "Next to my husband and kids, my faith is most important." She likes to take photos in that she relate them with her stories and articles.
Furthermore, I also find not only the blog itself interesting, but the main characer Karen herself. She enjoys gardening, listening to music, watching movies, birdwatching, and etc. Her favorites are somehow similar to those of me, since I also find myself enjoying as I do similar things as her, things that I can do regardless to the rapidity of the time. To make a sentence clear, I enjoy things that I can do in terms of serenity.
